Privacy Policy

§

Last updated: March 27, 2026

Your data is yours, not ours. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We will never sell your personal information — not now, not ever.

This policy applies to Viminal LLC and the One Sentence at a Time web application.

What We Collect and Why

Identity

When you sign up, we ask for your first name, last name, and email address. We use this to identify your account, address you in emails, and send you essential service communications such as your sign-in link. We will never use your name in marketing without your permission, and we will never sell it to third parties.

Writing Content

We store the documents and sentences you create in your account. This is your content — we hold it only so the Service can work as intended. We keep it for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your content within 60 days.

Billing Information

Payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. Payment details such as credit card numbers never touch our servers — Paddle handles them directly. We store only a Paddle customer ID to associate your account with your subscription.

Correspondence

If you email us for support, we keep that correspondence — including your email address — so we have history to reference when helping you in the future.

When We Access or Disclose Your Information

  • To provide the Service. We use third-party subprocessors to run the application. This includes Paddle for payment processing and Resend for transactional email delivery (sign-in links, receipts).
  • To help you with support. We will only access your account content to help you with a support issue if you explicitly ask us to.
  • To investigate misuse. Accessing a customer's account when investigating potential abuse is a last resort. We balance customer privacy against our responsibility to keep the Service safe for everyone.
  • When required by law. We are a U.S. company and all data infrastructure is located in the U.S. We will not share your data with law enforcement unless compelled by a valid legal order. We will notify affected users before disclosing data unless legally prohibited from doing so.
  • In the event of a sale or merger. If Viminal LLC is ever acquired or merged with another company, we will notify you before any of your personal information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Your Rights

We apply the same data rights to all customers regardless of location. These include:

  • Right to Know. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it. This policy is that disclosure.
  • Right of Access. You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to Correction. You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Erasure. You have the right to request that your personal information be deleted. You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Doing so will prevent you from using the Service.
  • Right to Portability. You have the right to receive the personal information we hold about you in a portable format.
  • Right to Object. You have the right to object to how your personal information is processed in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination. We will never treat you differently for exercising your data privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

How We Secure Your Data

All data is encrypted via TLS when transmitted between our servers and your browser. Database backups are also encrypted. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled exclusively through time-limited sign-in links sent to your email address.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, your content will become immediately inaccessible and will be permanently deleted from our systems within 60 days. We may retain certain information for longer periods where required by law, such as billing records for tax purposes.

Location of Data

Our Service is operated in the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information you provide to us will be transferred to and stored in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

Changes and Questions

We may update this policy as needed to comply with relevant regulations or reflect new practices. Whenever we make a significant change, we will refresh the date at the top of this page and notify account holders as appropriate. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy or your data, please contact us.

Viminal LLC — your data is yours.
